Vivian R. Stevens Obituary
It is with significant sadness that the family of Vivian Ruth Robinson Stevens announces her passing on June 25, 2025, at her home. Vivian has lived a remarkable life. Vivian was born in Red Creek, New York on October 23, 1926, the daughter of the late James R. and Jennie Taber Robinson. She graduated from high school in Geneva, New York and soon received her registered nursing certificate from Geneva Hospital. Although she spent time working in a hospital setting, her favorite form of nursing was in the public schools. Most of her career was spent at Red Creek Central School. A former student visited with her recently and shared what a difference she made for many youth at RCCS. This kind conversation made her most proud.

In July, 1949 she married Frank Dale Stevens of Red Creek. Their life together was spent working the successful Stevens Family farm on Sterling Station Road in Sterling. They grew crops such as corn, wheat, and apples. They raised young cattle and chickens. The best part of farm life was being blessed with four children: Deborah, Richard, Sally, and Bryant. She was an avid needlework artist. She was a member of a knitting group that met once a week in Fair Haven. Only within the last few months did she miss a meeting. Vivian was very active with the Red Creek Library as president and instrumental in the improvement of the facility as it became a showplace in the Village. She was a member of the Red Creek-Westbury United Methodist Church. She was a champion baker of cookies. Her grandchildren can't decide which was the best, chocolate chip or molasses. Vivian is survived by her daughters Deborah (Richard) Mayou and Sally (Terry) Parks, two daughters- in- law, Darlene Stevens and Tina Stevens. Her grandchildren are Steven Mayou, Jodi (Clinton) Samson, Ryan Mayou, Alexander (Stacy) Stevens, Eric (Sara) Stevens, Taylor (Brittany) Parks, Michael (Jennifer) Stevens, Valerie (David) Wilson, and Patrick Sullivan. She has a splendid brood of 17 great grandchildren. There remain seven nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Dale, and sons Richard and Bryant. Also, her parents, brother James (Jim) and sister Marilyn Robinson.
Vivian was extremely grateful for the friends and neighbors who showed her such kindness. Vivian requested no calling hours, a graveside service will take place Monday, June 30, 11:00 AM at the Fair Mount Cemetery, Red Creek. Contributions to her memory may be made to the Stevens Family Scholarship at Red Creek Schools, in care of Deborah Mayou 6067 Leaven worth Avenue, Wolcott, New York 14590.
