Red Creek

Obituary

Timothy A. Glidden, 51, of Red Creek, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021. He was born in Oswego, NY, son of Herbert G. Glidden, and Cathy Ann Brown. Tim was a smart, talented entrepreneur and mechanic that successfully built and ran his own business for over 25 years. First established in the early 90's as Tim's Automotive and later Excalibur Automotive, Inc., he had a loyal staff and customer base that he was proud of. Tim was an avid outdoorsman who loved offshore performance boats, snowmobiling, race cars and anything with a motor in it. If it didn't go fast enough, he would build it so it did. Anyone who knew Tim, knows he was always into the throttle when it came to his toys and would say, "Have fun, go nuts!" even if it meant his own bodily injury. We have the X-rays to prove it!  He could build or fix just about anything and
always had an abundance of projects going, from household, automotive, racing and marine.  Tim was always the life of the party with his quick wit and offbeat, hilarious sense of humor that made everyone laugh and smile. He really enjoyed entertaining at home, throwing clam bakes and cookouts with friends which sometimes included lot car racing, ATV or snowmobile stunts and the occasional need for stitches. He was also known as an avid pen and lighter thief. Tim really had a flair for anything automotive and mechanical.  If you broke down on mars, you would want him with you! Most importantly, Tim was a kind, caring, devoted member of the Red Creek/Fair Haven communities and was always willing to help out when and where he could. His love for his family, friends and community was beyond measure and he will be greatly missed.

Tim is survived by his parents, Herbert (Barbara) Glidden of North Carolina, Cathy Brown of Red Creek, 25 year companion, Jody Dates of Red Creek, son, Timothy Glidden of Sterling, brother, Herbert J. Glidden of Red Creek, brother, Marc Glidden of California, nephew, Bradley Faxon of Sterling, Ed and Louise Dates, Alec and Tracy Dates, niece, Julia Dates of Red Creek, god daughter, Lillian Robinson of Red Creek, aunts, uncles and so very many friends and extended family.

A celebration of Tim's life will take place at Colloca Estates Winery,
14678 West Bay Road, Sterling, NY 13156 on Sunday November 7th from
12 noon-? . Becker-Keysor Funeral Home, Red Creek, is in care of the
