ZEPHYRHILLS, FL/RED CREEK, NY—Sherry Van Hout, 83, of Zephryhills, FL,
formerly of Red Creek, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August
25, 2018.
Sherry leaves behind her daughters, Susan (Ron) Kuck and Lori (Jim)
Van Hout; son Wes (Kate) Van Hout; grandchildren Erika, Micaela,
Colin, and Robin; along with her sisters, Carol and Velma; her
brothers, Chuck and Hugh; and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Dan; her mother and father, Pearl
and Henry Craine; her sisters, Helen, Marion, Una, and Betty; and her
brother, Ernie.
Sherry loved her family, friends, and just about everyone she has ever
known. Enjoying the company of people, young and old, was Sherry's
love in life. Her lifetime work in retail at The Reynolds Shop in
Wolcott, NY, and JC Penney in Daytona Beach, FL, afforded her daily
opportunities to meet new people and fulfill her passion of engaging
with others.
She and her husband, along with their son, Wes, moved to Florida in
1984, where she continued to brighten the lives of many new people and
family members in the South. Although she has lived in Florida for the
past 34 years, Sherry always referred to Red Creek as her home, and
never missed the annual Red Creek Alumni Banquet or the Fair Haven 4th
of July celebration.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018, from 6:00 -
