Shelley Dowd Lloyd, 68, of Weedsport, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. She was born in Lyons, the daughter of the late Betty Reid Dowd and Frederick Dowd.
Shelley dedicated many years as a title clerk at car dealerships in Wolcott. She found simple happiness in flower gardening, birdwatching, knitting, and preparing meals for those she loved, but nothing meant more to her than being "Grandma" and spending time surrounded by family.
Shelley was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara Rising, John Dowd and niece Laura Dowd.
She is survived by her loving husband, Allen D. Lloyd; her children, Jeremy Hammond of Brewerton and Brandon (Victoria) Hammond of Cato; and by the children she lovingly embraced as her own, Kacey Hammond of Red Creek, Keri Hammond of Wolcott, Jennifer (David) Kelly of Cato, and Jeremy Lloyd of Cato. Her siblings, Lee (Jennifer Gams) Dowd, Fred (Cindi) Dowd, JoAnn (Mike) Mulholland, Julie (Ron Hamm) Powell, and Peggy (Dominick Grosso) Dowd; her grandchildren, Cataleya Hammond, AnnMarie Hammond, Jayden Kelly, and Sophia Kelly; as well as several nieces and nephews.
There will be no services. A celebration of Shelley's life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shelley's memory may be made to the Finger Lakes SPCA, 41 York Street, Auburn, NY 13021.
