Sarah J. Olmsted, 83, of Meridian, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at St. Josephs Hospital, Syracuse. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Solomon J. Salomon, and Jenny Myrick Salomon. Prior to retirement she was employed as a cook at Cato Meridian Central Schools. She was a volunteer at the Meridian Fire Department, and a cat lover, she also loved playing bingo.

She is predeceased by her son, Mark Olmsted, and brothers, Larry Salomon, and Chuck Salomon.

Survived by her husband, Russell Olmsted, daughter, Cheryl (Rolland Schmidt) Olmsted-Block of Cato, son, Craig (Diane) Olmsted of Meridian, sister, Sadie Fox of Camillus, grandchildren, Matthew Olmsted, Nathan Olmsted, Melissa (Jody) Block-Gallup, Michael (Brandilyn Townsend) Block, great grandchildren, Lennox, Blake, Nina, Gabriel, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be Monday, April 25, 3:00-6:00 with a funeral service at 6:00 at the Keysor-Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Cato, a private family graveside will take place at Meridian Monumental Cemetery.
