Richard E. Nichols, 80, of Blind Sodus Bay Road, passed away Tuesday February 19 at House of John in Clifton Springs. Born in Rochester on August 29, 1938, Richard (Dick) was the son of the late Percy Nichols, mother Eleanor Francis Hanlon, and step-father Edward Hanlon. He was employed as a field machinist at Kodak Park in Rochester. Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with Joanne, just spending time outdoors, and baseball.
Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joanne Edmondson Nichols, brother-in-law, Bill (Cindy) Edmondson of Wolcott, nephews Ian (Stephanie) Edmondson, and Matthew Edmondson, niece Erin Edmondson (Brad) Kahler, great-nieces and nephews, and his family at St. Thomas church in Red Creek.
A calling hour will take place 11:00-12:00, Saturday, March 02, at the St. Thomas Church in Red Creek, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00. with a private burial at Springbrook Cemetery in the Spring.
