Michael A. McDorman, 62, of Wolcott, passed away on November 21, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born in Lyons, NY, son of Edward and Kirsten McDorman on May 14, 1961.  Before his retirement, Michael worked as a model maker for Carrier Corporation in Syracuse.

As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed canoeing, motorcycling, hiking, camping and snowmobiling.  He always found solace and joy in nature. His love for the outdoors was contagious and he always inspired friends and family to join him. Michael's greatest love however was spending time with his family. Playing cards, taking walks, and family vacations were a few of the many activities. His presence made each moment special and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is predeceased by his parents, Edward W. McDorman and Kirsten B. McDorman and brother, Oran McDorman.

Survived by his wife, Jan McDorman, daughters Kelly (Steven) Jackson of Wolcott, and Laura (Joshua) Andrus of Wolcott, son, Matthew (Katherine) McDorman of NC, brother, Kenneth (Lynn) McDorman of North Rose, sister, Kathryn (Eric) Welkley of North Rose, grandchildren, Logan Andrus, Taylor Thompson and Milena McDorman, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside ceremony was held at the Rose Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place Saturday, February 24, 2:00 pm, at the North Rose Methodist Church.
