Lucelia B. Pritchard, age 101 , of Cato, NY went to be with her Lord on December
9, 2016 after a long and full life.
Lucelia was born in Weedsport, the daughter of James and Sylvia Blass and lived
in Cato for 71 years of her life. She graduated from Auburn Academic High School in
1934. As a young pianist she played for early silent movies, then at the former Sand
Beach Church in Owasco followed by the Emerson Church. She was the organist at
Cato Union Church for 18 years. Lucelia was an office secretary at Cato-Meridian
School from 1957 – 1972. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and all kinds of crafts, selling
her work at many shows.
Lucelia is survived by 2 sons; Lee (Margaret) of New Paltz, NY; and Alan (Joan) of
Sodus, NY; also by 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and
nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Earl in 1950 and by her loving husband of 67
years, Harold Pritchard in 2003.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Cato Christian Fellowship Church on
Friday December 16 at 1:00 PM followed by a reception in the fellowship room.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cato Christian Fellowship Church or to
