Monument
Lillian Strong, 89, of Larkspur, Colorado, formerly of Wolcott, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022. She was born in Canastota, daughter of the late Malcolm Cook, and Edith Mettler Cook. Lillian was the oldest daughter of a large family growing up in Cazenovia and learned how to "rule the roost" at an early age. She met her future husband, Bob, at a college football game in Hamilton, setting her course for the rest of her life. She was a homemaker, a Cub Scout Den mother, a school volunteer, a church deacon, and was an Avon representative for almost 25 years, receiving several President's Club awards throughout the years. She enjoyed gardening, visiting friends and family, and organizing and hosting parties in her younger days. She and Bob got involved in several travel groups in their later years, spending many enjoyable weeks with friends in Nova Scotia, and several bus trips to other locations in Canada and the United States.
She is predeceased by her brothers Edward Cook, Norman Cook, and Donald Cook, and her beloved sister, Beverly (Louis) Recuparo.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Robert H. Strong, children, Steven (Dorothy) Strong, and Stuart (Lynn) Strong, brothers Roderick Cook, Lawrence Cook, Robert Cook, and sister Judith Hamilton, grandchildren Maureen (Andy) McClatchey, Kristen (Darren) Nutter, Robyn Strong, and Leanna Strong. She also was fortunate to have 5 great grandchildren. Over the last eight years, the Strong family watched Lillian suffer with Alzheimer's disease. It was a long journey but now she is at peace. For those wishing to make contributions in Lillian's name, they may do so to the Wolcott Presbyterian Church, 11988 W. Main Street, Wolcott, NY 14590, or the Lakeshore Ambulance Service, 5841 New Hartford St., Wolcott, NY 14590. There are no services planned at this time. Arrangements are in care of the Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, North Rose. www.catoredcreek.com
