Kirk E.
Cosser
Sep 19, 1954 — Jan 30, 2026
Sterling
Kirk Edward Cosser, of Fair Haven, New York, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the age of 71, following heart-related complications. Born on September 19, 1954, in Oswego, New York. Kirk was preceded in death by his father John "Jack" Cosser and his mother Diane (Cummins) Cosser.
Kirk was a father to two children, Rachel and J.D. He is survived by his brothers Larry, Tim, and Jeff Cosser, and was preceded in death by his brother Craig (Thumper) Cosser. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews—Brandy, Collin (Chrissy), Emily, Cody, and Kari Ann Cosser and great nephews—Casen (son of Brandy) and Jackson (Son of Collin and Chrissy).
Throughout his life, Kirk worked hard and lived simply. He began his career as an auto mechanic in Liverpool, New York, where he developed a lifelong love for classic cars and mechanical work. That passion carried him through many chapters of life, including years as a semi-truck driver and owner-operator. In the late 1990s, Kirk moved to Florida, where he opened his own shop repairing boats and marine engines. Eventually, Kirk returned home to Fair Haven, where he continued doing what he loved— working with his hands—at his brother Tim's marine repair shop. He then drove for J.H. Verbridge for several years then finished his career driving for C.S.W. Medical Transport until declining health led him to retire.
Kirk will be remembered as a hardworking man who found peace in engines and open roads. He had a quiet strength, a generous spirit, and a way of showing love through action rather than words. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. A celebration of life will take place at an undetermined date. Arrangements are in care of the Becker-Keysor Funeral Home, Red Creek. www.catoredcreek.com
