Joan P. Richardson, 87, of Red Creek, passed away on February 10, 2017.

Joan was born in Chaumont, NY on February 27, 1929, the daughter of the late Gerald Alexander and Muriel Reinl Harrington. She graduated from Auburn East High School in 1947 and subsequently from the Auburn School of Nursing. While working as an R.N., she caught the eye of her future husband, George, and they were married in 1951. They worked side by side on the family farm, Richardson's Gardens, for 58 years, until George's passing in 2009. Joan loved working on the farm, tending her beautiful flower gardens, reading and baking. Her favorite animals were dogs and there was always at least 1 in residence at the farm. She especially loved Sophia who was her comfort and companion after George's death.

She is survived by: four daughters, Patricia Lawson and her husband Doug, of Niatoze, KS; Rebecca Smith and her husband Duane of Fair Haven; Pamela Cosser of Fair Haven; Amanda Jaksha and her husband Jerry of Chetek, WI; two sons, Scott Richardson of Red Creek and Jeffrey Richardson and his wife Jo, of Fair Haven; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers John and James Harrington and sister Jeanne Tarleton.

There will be no calling hours and the service and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Becker-Keysor Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. The interment will be at Victory Union Cemetery, Victory at a later date. If desired, contributions may be made to Red Creek Free Library.
