Gerald A. Hilton, 74, of Cato, passed away Saturday, April 01, 2023, at Community Hospital in Syracuse. He worked at the family dairy farm and at Syracuse Truss before his accident in 1973 which left him paraplegic. Fred faced every day with a smile and had many jokingly nicknames for everyone. He always made the best of his inability to have a "normal" life.  The family would like to especially thank Cassie Laws Hoeffner, Mary Shatraw, Josephine Rodriguez, Bridget Rice, Linda Watson, and many other family and friends for their unconditional love and care given to Fred over the years helping with his disability. He will be back in great hands with "Gramma" now and his beloved dog Buttercup. Until we meet again on the other side Fred, we will miss and love you and your memory will carry us through – The Hilton Family.

Fred is predeceased by parents, Dorwin and Betty Hilton, brother, James Hilton.

Survived by his sisters, Jean Hilton, Gayle Sheffield, and Janet Hilton, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place Saturday, April 08, 2023, 11:00 AM at the Ira Union Cemetery on White Cemetery Road. Keysor-Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Cato, is in care of the arrangements.
