Obituary

Georgia Ethel (Curtis) Bacon passed away in Rochester on March 24, at the age of 89.She was married to Howard A. Bacon for 49 years until his death in 1998.
She is survived by her six children, Howard (Linda) Bacon, Jr. of Fair Haven, Nancy Sue (Fred) Hayes of San Jose, California, Marjorie (Ed) Shelly of Rochester, Janet (Brian) Clark of Omaha, Nebraska, Debbie (Rich) Opray of San Jose, California and Mark (Laura) Bacon of Rochester. In addition she leaves fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Georgia was born September 18, 1926. She grew up in Ashland, Maine and graduated from Berkshire Christian College. She moved to Red Creek, NY and married Howard Bacon in 1949. She worked for more than 25 years as an assembler for General Electric.
She traveled the country with her husband- from Maine to California and many places in between. They especially enjoyed seeing the country's National Parks and visited Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, and the San Juan Islands in Washington.
Georgia was a gifted artist and talented at drawing. She also loved jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, Sudoku and her IPad.
Over the past decade, Georgia began spending winters with family in the warmer California climate and leaves behind a group of close friends there who spent time going to tea, visiting gardens and enjoying the spectacular scenery.
We will all miss her dearly.
