Gary J. Prairie, 66, of Cato passed away Friday morning at Upstate Medical University Hospital.
He was born in Plattsburgh and was the son of the late Armand and Elizabeth Senecal Prairie.
Mr. Prairie was the husband of Kathleen Bush Prairie.
He had been employed as a chef in many restaurants throughout Central New York.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jennifer (David) Monaco of Baldwinsville, one son Jason (Nicole) Prairie of San Diego, Cal., three grandchildren, Matthew, Mark and Erica Monaco and several siblings.
There will be no calling hours. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
