Gale passed away peacefully, January 8, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Gale is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cynthia. He leaves two children; Tina
and Tom Johnson of Red Creek and Mark and Colleen Anthony of North Rose. He also
leaves behind grandchildren that he took great pride in; Lindsey and Diana
Johnson-Sempere, Trevor and Kara Johnson, Nolan Anthony (Kelsie Atiyeh), and Erin
Anthony (Steven Plane). He also left behind two great granddaughters who never
ceased to bring a smile to his face; Oaklyn and Everlee Johnson, sister, Dawn Schuetz,
and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steven and Barb Hendershot. Gale was
predeceased by parents Carl and Margaret Anthony.
Gale grew up in Clyde, NY and moved to North Rose when he married. He was a
56 year member of the North Rose Fire Department. He worked for many years at
Xerox Corp. in Rochester, then became a postal mail delivery driver for the North Rose
post office. During that time he also became a bus driver for the NRW school district.
Anyone who knew Gale, knew he loved to tinker and was a master with the lawn
mower. He loved his summer weekends with his friends at Junius Ponds Campground
and spoiling his pet cats, who kept him company until he left us.
There will be no calling hours and a family service will be held in the spring.
