Frances Morgenstern, 87, of Ira, passed away, Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Crouse Hospital. She worked at SUNY upstate Medical Center for 22 years, and retired in 1994, as Associate Professor Emeritus in the Medical Technology/clinical Pathology department. She taught Clinical Microbiology. She was active in the St. Patrick's Church, Cato Seniors Group, and the American Society of Clinical Pathology. She enjoyed her family and working with tropical flowers in her greenhouse.
She was predeceased by her husband John in 1969.
Surviving are her six children, Paul Morgenstern of Austin Texas, Karen (Robert) Wilkins of Cato, Mark (Maryjo) Morgenstern of Liverpool, John (Bonnie) Morgenstern of Cato, David (Viola) Morgenstern of Kyle Texas, Mary Lois Broadwell of Baldwinsville, ten Grandchildren, and eleven Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. All who would like to celebrate her life are invited to attend a memorial mass at 10:00 AM , Saturday, May 27, 2017 at St. Patrick's Church , Cato, with interment following immediately after at the Ira Union Hill Cemetery. A reception is to follow the interment at the St. Patrick's Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the St. Patrick's Church, 2676 Mechanics St., Cato, NY 13033.
