Dorothy E. VanHorn, 62,of Cato, passed away January 01, 2022, at Auburn Community Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Walter O. Root, and Evelyn Willard Murray. Prior to retirement she was employed as a school bus driver for CMCS. She enjoyed quilting, sowing, antique auctions, and spending time with her grandkids, her husband.

She is survived by her husband, Harold VanHorn, daughters, Stephanie Southworth, and Erica (David Elmer) Korthas, son, Anthony Southworth, brothers, Donald (Sharon) Root, and Oliver Root, sister, Elaine Gothwait, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours or services. Arrangements are in care of the Keysor-Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Cato. For those wishing to make contributions in Dorothys name they may do so to the Cato Fire Department, 2569 E. Main Street, Cato, NY 13033.
