Dale Edward Davenport, 76, of Cato, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026. He was born in Cato, son of the late William Davenport, and the late Viola Van Buren Davenport.  He worked at Dependable Tool and Die in Syracuse and was an expert machinist for most of his life.  He enjoyed making and flying model airplanes and was a devout Catholic and man of deep faith, his generosity apparent in many aspects of his life.

He is predeceased by his brother, William Davenport (husband of Corien), and his grandson Shawn Lee.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Richardson Davenport; children, Tammy (Rod) Lee, Dale Davenport II, Denise (Tom) Calescibetta, Lucas Davenport, Ashley (Craig) Perrin, and stepson James (Jennifer) Bye; grandchildren, Austin, Toni, Dale III, Brandy, Cody, Emily, Oliver, Silas, Jessica, and Erika; siblings, Steve (Cheryl) Davenport, JoAnn (Gary) Hoyt, Jill (Jayson) Campbell, Yvonne (Jerry) Green, and Keith (Venus) Davenport; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will take place at St. Patrick's Church, 2576 E. Mechanic St., Cato, NY 13033.  Calling hours will be from 11-1 Monday, June 15, with a funeral Mass at St. Patrick's to follow and the burial following the Mass at Plainville Cemetery.
