Chuck E.
Deming
Apr 21, 1947 — Nov 27, 2020
On November 27, 2020, Charles Ernest Deming III (Chuck) passed away at the age of 73. On April 21, 1947, Chuck was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, spent his childhood in Jordan, NY, and settled in Fair Haven, NY, living there for more than 40 years.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joan McIntyre Deming, his daughter Christine Deming Townsend, son Robert T. Deming (Becki), step-daughters Alyssia Ruggerio, and Erica Raiti (Aaron), brother Robert A. Deming (Gail) and sister Cheryl Deming Graves (Jeff). Chuck leaves behind his grandchildren; Ceila, Charli, Justin, Katie, Austin, Danielle, Lexi, Andy, Leora, Lyza, Jesse, Ella, and Jude, five great-grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. He also leaves behind his loyal canine companions Gabriel and Ruby. All will miss him more than the stars miss the sun in the morning skies.
Greeting Chuck in heaven are his beloved parents Charles Ernest Deming Jr. and Louise Watson Deming, his in-laws Bert and Arlene McIntyre, his brother-in-law Gordon, and nephews Eric and Rieley.
Chuck excelled in his personal and professional life. He loved his work and valued long-term, meaningful relationships with his customers. Chuck had a 39-year career at Hahn Automotive, leaving behind colleagues and customers that will miss him greatly.
A Navy Vietnam-era Veteran and a graduate of SUNY Oswego, Chuck was a history buff, Syracuse fan, and enjoyed spending time with his wife canoeing and hiking in the Adirondacks. Chuck was proud of his family and grateful for any time spent with them. During family gatherings, everyone knew that Chuck always had a listening ear and kind, encouraging words. If you were lucky enough to be around for family breakfast, you know that no one could make better scrambled eggs!
Chuck was a man of great faith attending Believers' Chapel in Fulton. He supported those around him in every way he could. Chuck was generous, caring, humble, and always appreciative. His soft-spoken nature and kind-heartedness were noticed by all who knew him. When thinking of Chuck, this verse comes to mind; Ephesians 4:2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.
Since Chuck gave his life to the Lord, the Bible verse most meaningful to him was 2 Chronicles 7:14; if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Chuck was a great encourager who stressed the importance of education and hard work to his family. A person they all respected and who they could count on for support and unconditional love. Thank you, Chuck, for believing in us and for making an infinite difference in our lives.
