Obituary

Carol A. Gregg, 84, of Red Creek passed away on March 20th 2022. Carol is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Gregg and their three children David (Brenda Kayn) Gregg of Seneca Falls, Lynn (Mark) Hermenet of Williamson, NY and Michael (Lori) Gregg of Angier, NC. Carol was blessed with eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Carol was predeceased by her parents Dwight Standbrook and Ruth and brother Gary Standbrook. Carol attended college at Auburn Memorial Hospital School of Nursing to become a registered nurse and then went on to receive a degree as a nurse practitioner through Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY.

Carol worked for eleven years at the Wolcott Medical Center and then pursued a career as a nurse practitioner working primarily at North Rose Wolcott School District, practicing for roughly twenty years.

At an early age Carol developed a passion for sports and enjoyed swimming and water skiing. She also participated in intermural girls' basketball and softball. Carol also was a cheerleader for the high school basketball games. During the winter months, Carol would join friends out on the Red Creek Pond to ice skate. Carol enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren share her love of sports and enjoyed attending their games and competitions all over the state.

Carol had many hobbies such as her flower garden and reading. Carol and her husband enjoyed watching the NY Yankees and Syracuse Orangeman games together. Carol enjoyed going to watch the Auburn Double Days games. She always joked that the best part of the games was getting a hot dog, fries and a coke.

Carol was an active participant in her community. She served on the Red Creek Library Board and created the Senior Aqua Swim class at the Red Creek Recreation Center.

Carol's family will hold a private burial and service at the South Side Cemetery later this Spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Red Creek Library in her honor. Arrangements are in care of the Becker-Keysor Funeral Home, Red Creek. www.catoredcreek.com
