Red Creek

Obituary

Bret R. Gascoigne, Jr., 22 of Red Creek, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

Bret was a 2017 graduate of Red Creek High School, where he excelled on the soccer field, basketball court, and baseball diamond.  He was employed at Tessy Plastics.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, dirt biking, and quality time with friends.

"Bretter" was beloved in the community throughout his childhood, and into adulthood.  He had a contagious smile that lit up the room, and was quick to give hugs and sarcastic jokes.  In every circle that he entered into, he immediately was embraced as part of the family.

Bretter was loved so deeply by his whole family.  He had a close bond with many family members, regularly going out of his way to connect with them.  He had a gift with children, and loved being a big brother and cousin.

Bret was blessed with multiple groups of close friends that were like brothers and sisters, many of which have been a part of his life since early childhood.  His friends remember him as a light to everyone, someone who was always there with a huge smile, and simply a great person.  He was loyal and protective of his friends and family, always ready to fight for what was right.

He loved hard, went after everything he wanted, lived in the moment, and experienced all of those moments to the fullest.  To know him was to love and be loved.

Bret is survived by his mother, Jill Wood; father and stepmother Bret Gascoigne Sr. and Mandy Wavle; grandparents Scott and Patti Gregg, Robert and Brenda Gascoigne, Claude and Delene Wood; siblings Ella Gascoigne, Parker Wood, Elijah Wood, Karlee Wood, and Kallen Roberts; aunts and uncles Robert (Anna) Gascoigne III, Jamie (Paul) Hicks, Rachel (Kreig) Heroth, Kirsten Wood, Tonia (David) Smith, Aimee (Paul) Reed; cousins Hunter, Hayden, Dustin, Joseph, Brendon, Ashton, Morgan, Harlan, Landon, Bailee, Khain, and Sebastian; great grandmothers Barbara Dauphin and Lavada Yancey; a large group of close friends and several extended family members. He is predeceased by his uncle, Jason Wood, and his aunt, Elizabeth Gascoigne.
