Fair Haven----Alice Margaret House passed away on Tuesday, September 26th at her home in Fair Haven surrounded by family. Alice, 89, was born on November 6th, l927 in Syracuse, New York to Ella Lee and Clarence Collins. Alice spent much of her early life in Carthage, New York where she graduated from the Augustinian Academy in 1944. Alice cherished her years in Carthage and maintained contact with her school and school friends throughout her life. Alice attended Oswego State and worked in the telephone company in Oswego. In 1947, she married Hugh Emerson House and the couple lived in Cato, New York where Hugh Emerson started a chiropractic practice. Following Hugh Emerson's untimely death, Alice continued to live in Cato and Fair Haven with her longtime companion Raymond S. Sant, until they moved to Fair Haven fulltime in 2004. Alice was blessed with a large loving family and many friends and prized the time she was able share with them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Alice was predeceased by husband Dr. Hugh Emerson House, longtime companion Raymond S. Sant, brother Malcom Thomas Collins, and son David Collins House. She is survived by sister Marjorie Agneta Gotch, daughters Cheryl (Charles) House, Jana (Brandon) House, and Lesley (Craig) Gould, sons Stefan (Amy) House and Hugh Emerson House, grandchildren; Megan Horn, Ryan Gould, Brennan Furber, Emery House, Kiley House, Ellie House, David House, Katie House, Dylan Hunt, and Taylor Hartford, great grandchildren Quinlin and Wyatt Horn, and a large extended family.

Calling Hours will take place Friday, September 29, from 4:00-7:00, at the Keysor-Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Cato, Friends are invited for words of remembrance from 10:15-10:45 AM,  Saturday, September 30, at the funeral home before procession to the funeral mass at 11:00 at the St. Patrick's Church in Cato, burial will take place immediately after at the Cato Union Cemetery.
