Agnes L. Calkins,89, of Martville, passed away Monday, February 5, at St. Lukes Health Center, Oswego, NY, just 4 days before her 90th birthday.

She was born at home in Martville, NY on February 9th,1934, the daughter of the late Reva Garner Blanchard and Rufus Blanchard Sr.

She was predeceased by her husband Bobby R. Calkins in 1993, brothers Leon, Rufus Jr, and Raymond, son in-law Max Degroff,daughter in-law Rev. Bonnie Calkins.

She is survived by son Michael Calkins of Red Creek, NY, and daughter Judy Calkins of Tallahassee, FL. Eight Grandchildren, Mark Calkins, Jennifer Calkins Schopp, Mike Calkins Jr,John Calkins,Jack Calkins, Nick Degroff, Wendy Hauck and Alex Degroff, ten Great grandchildren and three Great Great grandchildren.

Aggie, as everyone called her worked many years at Comstock Foods in Red Creek, NY. After their retirement Bob and Aggie enjoyed camping and fishing, enjoying the great outdoors.

In 2004 Aggie decided to move from her home in Martville to Towpath Towers in Fulton, NY. While there she made many new friends, called out bingo, played cards, enjoyed going on senior citizens trips and even took a trip to Hawaii. Aggie was a long-time member of Martville Methodist Church and had many friends there too.

A graveside service will take place at Martville Cemetery, Saturday, May 25, 12:30 PM, with a celebration of life to follow at the Martville Methodist Church, 13729 Martville Cut Off Road, Martville, NY 13111. For those wishing to make contributions in Agnes's name they may do so to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are in care of the Becker-Keysor Funeral Home, Red Creek.
